I use bread when I can get it. It's not ideal, but it's cheap feed. There are countless extension publications from across the country with information about recommended rations for various ages. To figure out grain vs. supplement, the Pearson's square is the way to go. It can only handle 2 ingredients at a time, so if you are using a mixture of grains you can figure them first and then calculate them in with the correct amount of supplement using the grain mix as a single ingredient for the calculation.
