For my diesel, I skip the additive and go straight to the Cat ELC that already has it in it. Comparably priced to the run-of-the-mill automotive stuff.
As for the pre-mixed (original question), a little arithmetic ought to drive the decision. Two gallons of the straight stuff and two gallons of distilled water will cost a durned sight less that four gallon's of pre-mixed. It chaps me to see a gallon of 50/50 pre-mixed priced only $1 or so below straight anti-freeze. What a racket!
