I had that experience when I got flu shots 2 different times in the early 1980's. Both times I got sick within 48 hours and got sick enough that I missed a couple of days of work and felt lousy for much longer. So I didn't take the offered shots they gave at work for free ever again.
This year my Doctor convinced me that it would be a good idea for me to try a flu shot again, as the way they produce the vaccine these days is not the same as how they used to do. So I got my flu shot 2 weeks ago. I have not had any problems at all this time. It will be interesting to see if getting the shot really helps to keep me from getting the flu. I don't think I have had the flu since the previous times I had the shots...so maybe I am naturally immune. I hope!
