Sometimes the method depends on how stuck the engine is. Its been my experience if its stuck because water has been sitting in one or more cylinders for a long time the only way to free it is to take the head off and free up the pistion by placing a block of wood on it and hitting it with a hammer. That means you need to disconnect the free pistions if possible. If its stuck by just sitting you may be able to add something like WD-40 or diesel fuel to each pistion and hope it eventually frees up. I'm sure you'll get lots of advice on what has worked for others.
