Scotty, Funny you should mention hearing KXEL out of Waterloo, Iowa while in D.C. While in the Army in D.C 1960-62, three of us decided to go to Niagara Falls one weekend. I was driving in western NY state in the middle of the night and I got KXEL. This was a thrill because I am from a farm about 20 mi. west of Waterloo....a little bit of home at that time! When back in Iowa in the 1960s, I could sometimes get an AM station from Richmond, VA. at night. LA in WI
