Hydraulic filter in pressure line.

I posted on another board (with no responses) about the inadequate filter on the hydraulic system of my tractor. Published experts contend that filters in the suction line are a poor choice because of the possibility of cavitation. There is no protected area in the suction line for a filter on my tractor. The valve on my tractor is over the transmission/hydraulic sump and placing a filter in the "return line" is impossible because there is no "return line". There is a protected place and access to install a filter on the pressure line between the pump and the valve. Pressure line filters are not low-cost units! Your suggestions, please.
