For the first 15 years I sold KUBOTAS every one came from Japan with that silly wood block, always left it with the purchaser and never heard of a problem with clutch springs. Being in the small tractor market it is not unusual to see owners that might not uses their tractor for say 4 months over winter months. Belive I would take the man,s advice and use the block.
