I read an article in The Old Farmers Almanac 12 years ago that said because of the regular pulsing of the sun,it was getting colder. As a result,since water cools slower than land or air,the moisture that evaporated from the warm water would condense because of the cooler air and cause at least 20 years of cold wet springs. Seems like it's been affecting the fall a lot more lately too. Of course the end result will be a colder climate all together once the waters cool. That first cutting in September thing might be a joke now,but only getting one cutting and taking it in August might be what's coming in a few short years. I'm starting to think that in my lifetime,we won't be growing corn at all north of tha Mason/Dixon line. It's getting to be a serious situation.
