The Motto, In God we Trust has been stamped around the edge since this coin was first introduced. These internet, wacko stories have been circulating ever since. These stories are hoaxes designed to stir up the uninformed.
I have bought these coins by the roll for years now and give them out to the kids at church when they are being good.
The practice of imprinting the motto around the edge is a very old practice dating way back.
Not to be mean, but those who are spreading this story, have you looked at the coins? Have you researched any of what you spread around.
Snopes.com is a pretty good site to plug this type of stuff into to see if it is bogus.
Dont believe about 90% of what you see on the internet, unless you check it out.
