I think there may be some variables to consider here. While I certainly wouldn't pay much if anything for the tractor, it may be salvagable. I read the two other posts and agree somewhat. It really depends on the heat the tractor was subjected to. (No I really don't know how to tell what the heat was, but you can take the tractor apart to look at the parts.) My dad purchased a JD G which had been in a barn fire. We have totally restored it and now use it as a pulling tractor. It was stripped completely down, every bearing replaced ect.... Don't count it out just yet, but don't pay much if anything either, because you are pretty much taking a gamble. JDFREAK
