We're on Dish right now, but we've had Direct in the past.
We made the switch initially because Dish shot us a price that was $15 per month cheaper than Direct and it would be included in our telephone bill instead of being billed separately. Within six months, Dish inched up to the same price that Direct had been charging.
Either one would lose signal sometimes during a severe rainstorm, etc, but come right back.
Our Dish satellite box went kaput a few months ago. We called it in, and in less than a day a tech came out and replace the box under warranty. Then he said while he was here, he might as well upgrade the dish, itself, too. When he left, we basically had a whole new system again.
Right now, I'd flip a coin.
We have wireless Internet service. The transmitter is on top of a grain elevator five miles away. It's faster than the DSL at an insurance company I work for occasionally.
