Son just got a Springfield XDM in 9x18mm - loves it. Seems like an nice gun to shoot. I"m preferential to the Beretta 92F and Ruger 89dc. We shoot a lot of 9mm around here, reload and cast bullets. Brings the cost down substantially. I would not worry about 9mm. A premium hollow point bullet will do a lotta damage if it hits something. Yet mildly loaded plain cast bullets are not hard to shoot for target practice. 9mm is the NATO round issued to the NATO troops, so it has to be somewhat good. I"m sorry, I don"t subscribe to the "biggest isn"t big enough club." 9mm has abeen around along time, and modern guns with modern ammo will do the job, if you can put them where you need to put them!
