Found the best buy on a needle scaler from one of the tool supply houses on the internet. As far as distorting the sheet metal, I run mine at about 90 psi with the scaler set back to the least vibration strokes. Yes, I too use it to finish off welds and do heavy rust removal, but then I crank up the psi and reset the stroke. Also, for sheet metal, I use a set of needles that are a bit rounded from wear. No sharp edges. I scale, light sand with an air sander and prime. I'm no expert on finishes, but I'll be darned if I see any surface distortion on my finished old red tractors.
