I"ve gotten the belt you"re looking for at Grainger. I used them on a washing machine. The belt threaded around several pulleys and required dismantling the whole machine to change. I would thread the belt through, connect and tighten it, worked great.
Another possibility would be changing pulley size. My preference would be just a bit smaller if possible. This would also speed up the alternator, which would help as your tractor engine doesn"t turn as fast as a car engine. Pulleys should be cheap and plentiful at the local junkyard. Also some of the auto stores carry chrome universal alternator adjustment arms, they may have a longer slot and gain you some room. (and the chrome looks pretty)
