JD model 830 transmission noise

I recently bought a 830 that during the inspection it made a fair amount of noise in 6th gear. It was pretty consistent at all speeds and loaded or unloaded. no noise under any condition in the 5 gears. Was told this was characteristic of 830's and not to be concerned.

Question is: Is this Bull---- ? Please let me have your comments /experience.
