we have had a 970, 1370 and still have a 1070 and 1570. I am not scared of them, change the oil in the trans. and treat it right and it will treat you right, we've done alot of farming with case's. 1270 is the same drive train as a 1370 but with a turbo 451 instead of a 504 so it was harder to hurt the trans/diff. but is 1000rpm pto only. 870 is a nice tractor, any Case will usually make the same power as other brands on less fuel. People that knock the reliability of a 1370 should dyno one for often they were 185-190hp though factory rated at 155. look at general condition if it looks abused avoid it and learn how to properly operate the ps.
