70 D Starter

I recently purchased a JD 70 D that runs good, but somewhere in its checkered past someone pulled the pony and tried to use a Delco-Remy electric starer from a diesel truck. They tried to use the ES to drive the pony transmission and broke the transmission. My question, has anyone maid this conversion, and how did you do it. I still have the Starter and can make brackets, but any help will be welcome. If you think your post will be too long, email me. Thanks, Moye
