FYI There is another style 1 wire alternator regulator called a AC regulator, it requires removing the diode trio and adding 2 wires and a regulator that senses from one leg of the rectifier bridge just when the alternator rotor starts to turn. At that point voltage from the hot output stud is sent to the regulator and to the fields to excite it. This setup charges when the alternator starts to turn, right from the bottom, My 830 Case diesel is a low rpm engine and this setup is working as soon as the engine starts. I believe that the number of the regulator is D10AC. Hope someone trys it and am as happy as I am with the results. mEl
