I've got a Yanmar diesel in a late 90's JD F935 and the local dealer service manager gave me 0.008 inches for both the intake and exhaust. Looks tight but that is what the service manual gave. If you check clearances and it is near that value, it probably should be the same. However I would give the local dealer a visit and ask.
