First, you cannot have a 53 8N as the last 8N was made in 1952 and 1953 Models were the NAA Golden Jubilee while the 54 were just a NAA. And where you say even in 1 st it can barely pull itself up a moderate incline. That says you have big engine problems as even in 4th over it should have no problem pulling up a good incline.
