The neighbors out at the farm built one out of old sprinkler pipe (which is much thinner gauge than what you are talking about) with sheet metal covering.
The guy was smart, but he was sure no structural engineer.
It is big enough to hold 40-50 tractors with a couple of 1000 bushel grain carts in the middle and withstood 15 years of panhandle of Texas windstorms...
My boss also built his big barn (150x50x18) out of drill stem for uprights, then welded purlin to the stems and screwed the sheet metal to that. It also has withstood the test of time.
If you had a structural engineer to bounce ideas off - so much the better, but its not rocket science, if you use some common sense and check around for some examples to go by.
