I have a 95 with the high output 4.3. It has central port ignition which has been discontinued but I have 265,000 miles on original motor and transmission. It is based on their v8s with two cylinders cut off. This truck has seen pretty hard use pulling trailers etc. Never had problems with 4X4 parts either. It has had Mobil 1 in it since it was broke in and is still running strong with 265,000 miles on it. I just put another set of tires on it so hope its good for another 50,000 miles. The only downside was the Central Port Injection system which costs some money to replace but other wise only costs has been regular upkeep such as a starter,alternator, brakes, air conditioner pump during that time. I just drove 200 miles to get new tires and checked mileage 22.3 - best I ever got. Usually it is 19-19.7
