Hello Ron Corkum, Blake smoke is usually caused by ovefueling. Clogged air cleaner will give the same results. Restriction should not be above 25" of water column. Take out the element and see if it cleares up. If the engine is missing, its possible that 1 injector tip broke off, or cracked and the fuel is just going in dribling. Many other things can produce the same black smoke. Broken push rod, valve adjuster coming loose. Start checking! Guido.
