A "lay" person as you call them could have gone through such an ordeal and might know more than even an attorney. "Attorneys are qualified and COMPETENT"? Although attorneys are supposedly educated, there are many of them that aren't really worth a hill of beans. It's not fiction that attorneys have a bad reputation with most people. Judges and the legal system in general are often not looked at favourably. There is a reason for this. Just because an attorney went to school doesn't mean he's any good. Lots of farmers don't have a lot of schooling either, does this make them any less competent at farming? I think not. There are some good attorneys, like yourself, and some bad ones. One just needs to look at the O.J. Simpson trial to see incomptence on a grand scale by not only the prosecution but also the judge (the jury too but they weren't "educated") in the case. When you look at the evidence which is overwhelming, and read what competent attorneys would have done differently, it is very clear a killer walked. You give very good legal advice but also tend to talk down to the lay people, ie/ LoL or !!!!. I don't know if this is your intent or not but that's the way it comes across. This is just my opinion. I have had some dealings with lawyers and some have been excellent and some not. It was painfully apparent that sometimes all a lawyer cares about is taking your money and could care less if you win or lose or even if you have a case. I'd rather have a lawyer tell me it's not worth suing over than to take me for a big chunk of money only to tell me this later. I suspect I'm not the only one who's experienced this, hence the bad reputation of lawyers. I realize this is just a tractor board but there are some very knowledgeable people on here for just about any topic. As I said, I think you give excellent advice but maybe you could word it so as not to come across as talking down to non attorneys or electrical engineers. Dave
