I"ve owned an 8N and now have a Yanmar 1500. Its sort like an apples and oranges debate. Different machines for different purposes.
If they were one thing that would say watch out it would be the "refurbished". Some of these grey market Yanmars were rebuilt in Vietnam and reports filter in of mismatched components. Absent that, its a good small tractor running about 17.5 HP, 2 cyl diesel. Most parts are available from several dealers.
