Flushing with kerosene has been our standard procedure when rejuvenating an old tractor. Just make sure that it is all drained out. And with the motor, I do another quick oil change after the oil change that followed the flush. Didn't I see something on here awhile ago about "Marvel Mystery Oil?" I think it was pointed out that its main ingredient is kerosene.
