to start with the clutch fingers should be readjusted back to the original position the were in when the clutch was first installed.as the clutch wears the fingers will move rearward toward the throwout bearing and at the same time will reduce tension on the clutch disc.the linkage will have to br readjusted also.you should have 1/16 clearance between the bearing and the fingers. you stated the cross shaft in the trans has new bushing which are new and snug. is the throwout finger that is attached to that shaft loose or bent.there is usually a keyway and 1/2 moon key in that shaft.without that key the finger will spin on the shaft
