Doesn't sound like you talked to a good mechanic. We have several gas tractors, the nursery next to us has several gas tractors (including a couple of TO-30s) that sit over the winter and never had this happen. Talked to an old MF/Ferguson mechanic, said that if that much anti-freeze gets in the engine while sitting, means there is an improperly installed head gasket or a hairline crack somewhere in the block or head. You can keep running it as is, but it will probably get worse. Get a second or even third opinion if possible. There is no reason at all to have anitfreeze in your oil.
