Sam, the fact that the linkage hooks up on the other side makes it as different as it could be. Reversing the shaft 'as is' would probably not work since everything would (or might be) backwards. You could drive out the little tiny pin (some of them use a pin) which anchors the linkage onto the shaft, or if it is rivet-flanged on, then you'd have to grind the end off to remove the linkage assembly. Then, see what you can do from there. It might work, but then again it might not depending on factors like whether it is pulling or pushing the throttle open, whether the linkage is above or below in it's position to the shaft, etc. You will also notice that the angle of attatchment between the linkage and the shaft might be totally different to begin with or maybe even moreso when reversed. I've done a few of these switcheroos and each one would probably be different so you've got a bit of fiddling to do to get it right. Eventually though, you can get it (and you might have to fabricate a new linkage arm or whatever).
