Sounds like a pluged or partly pluged heater core to me.This is just my 2 cents.You may be able to flush it out but I,ve never had much luck at this.Had the same problem on some of the old Dodge trucks when I was on active duty working in the motor pool.Use the card board trick someone else suggested.Keep a eye on the gauge,trim it to meet your temp requirements.Spirng will come in a few months.GOOD LUCK
