Don't know where you are, but in northern Bourbon County KS, they are overrun by them. A couple of landowners decided to bring some of those creatures here and turn loose on their land so they could have paid hunting expeditions. They did not fence in their land, and now they are everywhere. There are little to no natural predators to keep their population in check, so they have become a nuisance. Could probably knock on any farmer's door and get permission to take as many as you want. That being said, I don't think that there is a season for them here, but you would want to check with the proper authorities to be sure.
