The fifth wheel problem is Chevy/GMC 1500 crew cab specific. I read that IN THEIR brochure. It said 1/2 ton crew cab models aren't supposed to pull fifth wheel. Box length problems. You cannot get it in the right spot above the axle. I have seen it done too but the centre of the hitch was about 5 inches behind the axle.
