People DO HAVE SHORT MEMORIES,just read what was said here. Long before Wal-Mart,there was an outfit called Sears&Roebuck who had retail by the tail with a down hill drag. Then Sears decided to increase thier profit by cutting employee benifits and staff with part time help. Gibsons,Spartens and other junk peddlers flourished overnight. All the overseas junk was here long before Wal-Mart came to prominance. So the rant is about 30 years late. It is simply free interprise at work. Majority including consumers,want to reap high income and buy as much with least money as possiable. Other than that,I agree,we don't seem to be improving things despite experience and advanced technoligy. Humans have always been greedy along with a few other traits we don't like to admit.
