I find it amazing that half the bankruptcies in this country are due to medical bills. Even if you have insurance, you can still go broke on the co pays and things not covered. People worry about rationing with the government system. But what do you think private insurance companies do? They don't call it rationing, but they won't pay for procedures, exclude certain expensive drugs, and frequently drag their feet, hoping you will get better on your own, or expire. Interestingly, the highest rated health care system in the country is Tricare, paid for by the government.
