The temp sensor is there because the computer uses the trans temp as a reference for the torque converter lock-up clutch. Without it the converter may not lock-up. This will reduce fuel milage, but the bigger issue is that without lockup you build up alot more heat in overdrive. Eventually you will burn up the 3-4 clutches and 2-4 band.
The temp sensor is part of the pressure switch manifold on the valve body, why are you thinking it doesn t have a temp sensor?
