Diesel fuel doesn't need to be treated for long term storage. I get all my diesel from homeowners that have or are currently switching over to natural gas. I have pumped several tanks where the fuel was un-dyed. These tanks were being removed prior to selling the house. How old do you think that fuel was?
Moreover, I started up my International truck with a DT 466 that had been sitting for 11 years. It started well and ran fine. I also have several tractors that see very little run time. Some of that fuel has to be 10-15 years old.
