We had a deal like that around here about 14 years ago. One fall some one stated burning down air cured tobacco barns in the middle of the night. Some were pretty good size, some older guys lost the whole crop of 2 to 4 acres. Local news stations didn't pay alot of mind to it. Then some transplant from town cried that they didn't feel safe live'n out in the county with all the crazy farmers drive'n the back roads all night looking to shoot any one around their barns. (No joke, neighbors started working in shifts just dive'n around from barn to barn, wasn't gonna kill any body just burn some a$$ with a shot gun) Well that got the ears of the tv stations, they did a story about the vigilantes and interviewed the county prosecutor. He looked right into the camera and said he would not charge some one for trying to protect their property and if people didn't like the idea of arsonist getting shot, they better make sure their teenagers that are doing this are home and stay home by dark. Was never another spark.
