I think the source of the "jerking" is either the rigidity of the gooseneck or the rigidity of the hitch.

I have a similar problem with my trailer. It is a 20 foot deck with 4 foot hinged beaver tail.

I've tried to look at it while the jerking is going on, but I can't determine if it's the hitch or gooseneck. I have the ball mounted on a 10" channel spanning between the truck's frame. I suspect, in my case, the 10" channel is twisting and resulting with the jerking or "bucking". I'm going add some gussets on the gooseneck and stiffen the ball mount. I, also, may try getting a lower profile ball to keep it shorter and less prone to flex.

I built the trailer with the torque flex axles which is supposed to make the trailer ride smoother than a leaf spring set-up, but it does jerk to some degree.
