I left Springfield, MO about 7:30 Thursday morning checked in the Drury Inn at Chapaign and drove on up to Rontoul, got there about 3:30 and glad I went Thursday evening since it was dry, they pulled the 10 bottom plow with the Case steame engine and Big Bud plowed a round. Friday was a differnt story it was a muddy mess and it came a down pour about 2:00 pm, tractor pull was canceled for that evening. Saturday was great exibitors were in the field that afternoon and just a beautiful day, stayed at the tractor pull until about dark and froze out. Headed home Sunday morning through that beatiful Illinois farm country, about a six hour drive but an easy one. What a well orginized and great show.

For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house.
