I pulled the plug on the rear end & tranny expecting to find a milky oil since I suspect a bearing problem from a loud whine in the tranny. The oil that came out was very clear, clean and quite light. I suspect the previous owner just dumped in some light grade hydraulic oil ( or even 10w-30 motor oil) just before I picked it up a few months ago. The manual clearly recommends 80-90 oil, so I'm wondering whether the light oil could be the cause of a whinning noise? The noise was intermittent, not constant. Any ideas? Thanks
