had the same problem yesterday... just put in a new knife bar and guards. is there hay getting stuck on the ends of the guards? as was the case with me! was the field dry? as wasn"t the case with me! have discovered if the hay is wet and if the haybine is toooo low, the old dead wet hay on the bottom gets stuck in points of the guards. best thing i"ve figured out is to run a little higher and try to have it dry before mowing... also have heard about using snub nosed guards for this reason but haven"t gone to that as of yet
