Alberta: The TV weather men here in MN call cold fronts "alberta clippers." It's also said that the only thing stopping your cold air from getting here are a couple of barbed wire fences in N. Dak. ..and its only mid December. ahhh. Old cables can get internal damaged over the years. Some of the strands can break. There can also be acid damage inside. Look for discolored copper. With some old cables with a protective cover, it will be harder to see the damage. It may only look OK on the outside. Old Copper kept in good shape will still carry its full load of current. The trick is not getting fooled into thinking it looks good on the outside of the cable and assuming it's also good inside. Add good jumpers and look for an improvement? Good luck. Think warm.. harvey
