The factory chains were not designed to be adjusted or to hold the implement firmly from swaying. They are designed to let the implement have side to side travel, yet keep the arms from hitting the tires or fenders. Since the front connecting point is not as far forward as the front connecting point of the lower lift arm, you can see that these chains will not work as adjusters. Trying to use them as such will only result in bending the lift arms when you raise the implement. Don't ask me how I know! The other gentlemen are right; you need the proper attachment(s), anti-sway links or chains that connect at a point under the fender mount(s) in order to get the job done right and without binding/damage.
