We had a water pump go bad in a '98 Dodge Cummins out in the middle of nowhere, so we threw in a spare water pump for a 2388 CIH combine and drove away about an hour later. The impeller for the combine pump had a band fastened to the outside of the impeller fins, maybe for greater flow, but it's been working for five years without any trouble. Yes, figuring out the serpentine belt did take some time. Jim
