Hi. The advice the Jazz player gave to you was right on. However, As a jazz player (Piano) had a trio on the road years ago.I was influenced ( and later ON) I met the best there was. OSCAR PETERSON. I am A self taught player starting at age three. Several years ago I bought a Roland 1500 with a sequencer added on. Made several C.Ds sent to all My friends. Played the Jazz festival in 91 New orleand. Met Steve Allen who listened to a couple of sets and complemented my ability And was having several of Harry Conic"s band do a couple sets with me. Did a concert at Ball State U where we were the only trio who got a standing Ovation . Was invited to the concert by The renound plaver/ author/Teacher /John Mehegan. There is different styles of Jazz,and a lot of so called Jazz is badly labled Jazz. True Jazz is the wonderfull expansion of the music comming from the heart,mind, and filled with emotional expression.
