Trillium Dell Timber Works and the Timber Framers Guild arrived at the new Antique Engine and Tractor Association showgrounds north of Geneseo, Ill. this week to assemble the new main building. They spent the first day or 2 moving all the wood outside and sorting it out. It is all preassembled on the ground and moved into place. I went up Saturday morning to work and the first picture is what was done when I arrived. Last picture is how much got done in a day. I worked on one of the assembly crews, The Timber Framers did all the high work. The building has a loft on each side of the building and a open center. Both sides were up by the end of the day. The cranes are coming back Monday and Tuesday to set the tops on the frames and put up rafters. We are also working on the new sawmill building. It will be interesting to go back next weekend and see how much they accomplished. One of the club member set up a game camera on a pole and has it set to take a picture every 5 minutes, so we will be able to watch slow motion progress as it goes up. I'm not sure how fast they will get to it, but there will be pictures of the construction on the website

We are thinking about trying to get a bus to give rides to the new showgrounds during the show so people can see the new building and know where the new site is. Looks like rain today, Not sure if anyone will work on the sawmill building today or not, if they do, I'll probably go up after church and help. Chris

My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
