I would be concerned about the giant bermuda because, to my knowledge, it will revert back to common in 3-5 yrs. Common is what you see in people's yards and does not get as tall as coastal.
I don't know anything about Mohawk, you should research it to find out if it will maintain its hybrid qualities or if it will also revert back to common.
Since those two varieties make up the bulk of the Rancho Frio mix, I would definitely find out before you made any decisions.
The Cheyenne is guaranteed to maintain its hybrid qualities and not revert back to common.
Cheyenne is very expensive. I think we paid around $180 per 25 lb. bag. It can also be hard to get.
We originally seeded at the recommended rate and I was not happy with the results, way too thin. I would recommend at least twice the recommended rate.
The spot that we did this year, the last photos, was seeded very heavily. I think I used 30 to 40 lbs. of seed, but as you can see, the stand is very dense. We also applied 13-13-13 fertilizer every two weeks starting in mid-June and watered it using a tank mounted on the tractor.
If you will go back a couple of days on this forum, I think on Monday, James posted pictures of this area that show the tractor and sprayer I used.
Before you purchase any hybrid bermuda seed, be sure to find out if it will revert back to common. If it does, don't waste your time or money. Make sure your hybrid will remain a hybrid. Also make sure its recommended for your area and soil type.
