John Deere 330 - did it come from the 'letter' series ???

Looking at a tractor magazine tonight and someone sent in a photo of a JD 330, and not being a JD guy, I don't think I've ever seen one. Was it a numbered version of an earlier lettered series? The photo is from a bit of a distance and I can't quite figure out just what it looks like.
