Not so.I wondered about that too, but as Ken says it depends on the design of the point cam lobe.
Example 71 pinto 4 cyl engines, both with the points set at .025 the 98 CI engine has 38-40 degrees dwell. The 122 CI engine has 48-52 degrees dwell.
