As it turns out that is exactly what happened, both guys are friends trying to find answers to the same questions and independently found the posts here through internet searches, I wonder if there is some web-master trick that might direct internet searches to entire threads rather than single posts. I know that it is possible to click on the right stuff and get to the entire thread from outside but it is not immediately obvious, as a previous poster pointed out the sum of the advice in an entire thread tends to filter out the more dodgey responses.
